The Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) put their second RBP Concept 21® fountain solution system into production at their Technical Research Center in May 2008. The patented process allows them better control of the printing process in their research and development area. The press operator dials in a precise fountain solution formula that can be tailored to specific press conditions simply by varying the ratios of water and super concentrated chemistry. This tight control drives consistent press performance, reduced costs and a smaller environmental footprint than conventional fountain chemistries can offer.
